Where
to start? Monday 29/06 was an amazing day. Firstly, it was my best friend's birthday and secondly, after a long long wait; I got to meet some of the people that take part in the thing I am biggest fan of: Harry Potter.
So, in Milan
that evening there was the inauguration of the Harry Potter truck exhibition in the Piazza Duomo. Three actors were expected to attend: James and Oliver Phelps and Evanna Lynch who play Fred and George Weasley and Luna Lovegood, respectively. Luckily, my 2 friends and I got there in time. There was hardly anyone gathered around the truck as they started getting everything ready. We decided to
stand there and keep our places in front row, just in case there would turn out to be a lot of people as expected.
So we stood there, taking turns to jog off to the closest bar to buy a couple of bottles of cold water, as we stood in the square for 2 and a half hours under 35°C and sticky air in Milan. Time went by quite fast as we talked to eachother wondering what was going to happen and expressing how surreal the whole situation felt. Meanwhile, more fans started to gather around, asking us what was going on. The press started to show up and I took out my "Deathly Hallows" copy and that attracted the media's attention. My friends and I were interviewed and many pictures were taken with us and the book.
Then, the loud mumbling started as a couple of dark Mercedes pulled in at the side and people started clapping and screaming as Evanna Lynch and the Phelps twins got onto the red carpet. First, they stood infront of the cameras for a bit and got some pictures taken, then they moved onto signing some autographs. It was hectic. We were worried we might not get our books signed as Evanna walked towards us, but she signed every single book she could reach for! So, I thought I'd ask her if I could snap a picture with her and she agreed :).
Here's a video of when she approached us and signed my book. It happened at about 0:19
Then the Phelps twins walked over and they were so sweet and laid back as they took their time signing books and pieces of paper. If I'm not wrong, Oliver came first, followed by James and they both wrote "Happy Birthday" in my friend's book. They went along, signed mine as well and then I asked James if I could take a picture with him and with the most Fred-like, familiar voice he answered "Go for it".
Unfortunately, I had a bad aim..but at least I caught him in the pic
They were both really kind and thanked us for coming. I think they felt a tad more at ease when they found 3 proper English speaking fans. It was really an amazing day and I think every minute of it was absolutely 100% worth it! I've got so many pictures, I couldn't possibly put them all up here hehehe The only thing that could possibly top that off, would be meeting the other members of the cast. So basically, what I want to say is: If this happens near you, don't miss the opportunity, because it really is worth your time!!
