First blog of the day

Right, so today i wake up, go downstairs to have breakfast and literally the second i managed to swallow the last drop of milk the doorbell rings. It's the gardener. THE BLOODY GARDENER! I'm in my pyjamas right, so I sprint to the closest room with a door and lock myself in there. I get really frustrated by these random appearances at my house; especially when I'm on holiday and I could relax and stay in my pyjamas till like 4 o'clock. So, yeh that wasn't a great start to my day as I had to stick my ear to the door until he stepped outside and then take another sprint up the stairs in the safety of my room.

Anyhow, today I got inspired by one of Jimmy0010's videos where he talks about the optitian. Ok, I have been there a few times myself and I've had to take trips to buy more than one pair of glasses ( yes, i've lost a couple...) so I noticed that what he said really made sense. He says that it is really odd that when you walk in, everyone who works there is actually wearing glasses. I have noticed that before, but he also made some other valid points: Like that if you're getting your eyes checked, you'd like the person that's deciding whether you can see or not, to actually see themselves.

It is weird, because when you go to the dentist they're not all wearing braces, but yeah they do all seem to have perfect teeth and then when you see them smoking on the street they even try to hide the cigarette while they spill out a huge cloud of smoke when they smile at you. Urgh! At the optitians they do have some sort of odd pair of "glasses" they use to test different lense strengths and to be honest with you, to me they look like some sort of victorian torture method, or just a really old fashioned pair of Harry Potter glasses.

This is all just a "blog reply" to Jimmy0010's video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6GhDeTBYZys&feature=channel_page

Quote of the day: "There are no more frightening words in the universe than: Don't blink.Because as soon as those words are uttered it becomes a battled of will between you and the optitian."  That deserves a LOL.

The Seemingly endless afternoon is over

Why look at that, I'm done cleaning my room and I'm honestly pretty proud of the result of all the hard work. It took me about 2 and a half hours to get this room "tidied" up. Pretty much, it's all an optical illusion; I just pick things up from the floor and dump them somewhere else and make them look tidy and neat. You know, 'cause if you can see the floor it's already a good sign.I mean it makes the whole room look bigger and neater actually.

Enough about my room. Well actually this is relevant to the fact that I tidied up. I found this "Rescued Paper Notebook" that I had bought in the Museum Of Modern Art in New York last year. I've sort of been using it as a scrapbook and I must admit I'm quite happy to have found it again. It's really awesome.

it has a really cool feeling to it too. I really like flippng the pages and the cover's got this really cool sort of texture. Anyone else got one of them? My mum thought it'd be completely useless ( like most of the things I own),but you know everything can come in handy every once in a while, right?  Apart from the notebook, I also bought my lovely Gryffindor scarf from Fao Schwarz. Man, I love that shop almost as much as i love Hamleys or the gadget/toy/game area in Harrods.

The pic of the notebook is in the sidebar :) (temporarily)

Plans for today?

Well, my mum's already gotten us to do work on the first day of our Spring break. I got up at about 9.30am and received the great news that today I'd be outside in the garden washing up all the tables and chairs, and cleaning up old toys and shit from the garden. I must admit it all turned out pretty well, although we still haven't finished.

I have a long long afternoon ahead of me. I'll be cleaning my room. -I KNOW!- Surprised eh? That really doesn't happen so often, but I'm afraid I have no choice. It's going to be tough, my room's no joke. It's a mess, but it's also my mess. I find everything I need in my own messy space and I'm afraid that cleaning up won't help so much, but it'll look more decent. I am a person that loves to accumulate stuff and it's all over the place. Even when it's properly cleaned up and "tidy", you still walk in and think: Wow how much stuff is there in here? I'm surprised my room's holding it all in. It's insane. I guess I just don't like throwing stuff away, even though more than 80% of the crap I've got in this room is useless, I still like to keep it around. Don't you?

Please don't tell me you're neat freaks.
Might write later.

Omegle

Now, now.
This new virtual "Talk-to-strangers" site is pretty awesome I must say. So far, out of the people I've talked to, I'm guessing about 60-70% are jerks or people who just go on and mess about. The other 30-40% are decent people who're there to have a chat and maybe get to know you. So, out of the decent people, 2 disappeared suddenly ( which i must admit is a disappointment), 1 didn't want to keep in touch, but 2 of them i've managed to stay in touch with.

One,(the very first person i met) is lorena. I am very grateful to have met her, because she's awesome. Obviously, she's a nerdfighter and she also got me into the whole nerdfighterism, although i had already been following charlie and nerimon on youtube, I didn't know much about Nerdfighters and that; thanks Lorena (also known as alorena1 on youtube).

The other person I met is a guy from Massachusetts who's really chilled and fun to talk to. With this guy, I've had the longest Omegle conversation ever. Infact, it's still going on right now. I wouldn't be surprised if it's been nearly 2 hours :P We've exchanged emails and I think i got him to get msn because "like everyone international has one" :) agreed. Life's going to be easier for you now, my friend.

So yeah, you might talk to a lot of jerks on Omegle, but this kind of proves they're not all like that, and you have no idea how small the world is. You might find people from your country that speak the same funky language you do, you might find some disappoint you. But overall, you've got nothing to lose, right?

Tell me about your Omegle expiriences! Disappointments? New friends? Jerks? or just a good old chat?

P.s. If the conversation goes something like this then play along:
Stranger:Hi
You: hey
Stranger: I like pie.
You: Me too
Stranger: Reaaaalalllllyyyyyyy??
You: Nah.
--DISCONNECT--
:P

Rush of emotions

Breathtakingly amazing, I repeat.

I never thought a movie could say so much. Brokeback Mountain has now become probably the best movie I have ever seen in all times. While watching the movie, it was almost like the feelings were protruding through the screen. I could feel every bit of passion, anger, anxiety, fear and love that they showed for each other. It was unbelievable how strongly Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal managed to portray these characters. You could see it in their eyes, in their gestures and body language that from the very first time they met, there was something there. The feelings were so new that the passion became so strong. The intensity of love between them forced them to become almost aggressive each time they saw each other; that's how deep and strong their feelings were.
This movie really has mangaged to touch my heart. I've never cried while watching a movie and while watching Brokeback Mountain, the rush of emotions was impossible to avoid. It just shows that not only back in the 60s and 70s, but still now gay people in most places are forced to hide who they truely are and who they really love. The comparison to the present is brilliant. The point came across really well; I could feel every bit of sadness they felt when they had to leave each other. I'm sure I'm not only speaking for myself, but throughout the film, there was a vibe of feelings that was oddly familiar -let alone being gay or straight- the love that keeps two human beings together -whether two females, two males or a male and a female- is so strong that nothing can get between them, apart from death. Ennis is the quiet guy that keeps things mostly to himself. The death of Jack took a moment to sink in, but he couldn't ignore the fact that he loved him and that what happened to him might not have been a casual accident. If two people with such a strong bond -close or apart- are not allowed to stay together because of the prejudice of some scumbag, which results in them getting hurt so bad that one or both get killed, then i seriously think that all people that think that way are a disgrace. Just because the relationship between two people of the same sex might not seem "normal" to some people, there is no reason to alienate them or to doubt their love is any different from the one between straight people. Who knows, it's probably even stronger.

  I hope you're not a prejudiced scumbag.

Bonjour! Buenos dias! Buongiorno!

Hello and good day to you all!
I am pretty excited today because my Spring holidays start today! I had a short day at school and I had a biology test ( which FYI went pretty well!) We also got our report cards and I was really pleased with all the comments and results apart from Physics, which I'm completely useless at and Geography; Ok, i suck, but i do try my hardest so i deserve some credit there. My day went well overall, I mean it's not over yet, but I'll write again later with my thoughts about Brokeback mountain, which by the way I only managed to start watching yesterday. I think I watched about 15 minutes of it, so I'm determined to watch it all today and give you guys a good review on it.
In case you were wondering, the title to this blog was inspired by Russel Brand's autobiography book: My booky Wook. My friend was reading the book a couple of days ago and i made a comment on what a great immagination the guy has and how amazingly he managed to summarise the contents of the book into that extremely touching title. So, I decided to follow his example and give my official blog the title that shall inspire many others after me. I hope you appriciate the explanation.

P.S. Note sarcasm in that last paragraph.
Have a good 'rest-of-the-day' ! I'll write later.

Proper Post

So, this is going to be my proper blog-post for today.
Right, well I was just studying for biology and learning stuff about the circulatory system when I just drifted off thinking about Spring break. In some places it's such a huge deal, but here in Italy, it's just like any other holiday to be honest with you :P
I'm looking forwards to it though; my birthday's coming up on Sunday AND it's Easter sunday, so I feel extra special, although it's happened before lol So, I'll be going out with my friends on Saturday evening to watch one of our school bands play a gig in town and it should be good fun! Finally some chillax time to party and chill with my friends. My plan for this evening is to study a bit more and then FINALLY to watch Brokeback mountain. I doubt I'll finish it before Ugly Betty starts ( and I AM NOT missing it :P), but I'll start watching it atleast.
So, if you've already seen Brokeback mountain comment here or @reply me on Twitter with your comments and tell me what you think about the movie!
 Cheers,
ari

What a day

Nothing new has happened today really. I went to school, walked back home from the bus stop and now, I'm doing what many people would call "wasting my time" blogging and tweeting instead of starting the pile of homework and studying for the biology test for tomorrow. This isn't good. I should probably get to work and at the same time come up with something interesting to write. Lets not call THIS today's official blog. I'll write later.

Nerdfighter

Why, I only just found out yesterday that i ticked the boxes in the definition of a Nerdfighter. I'd heard a lot about them, but to be honest ( and I'm very ashamed of this) I never really knew what one was. I'm quite happy to have met a cool person on Omegle.com who told me about it and it was a really pleasant surprise to find out I am a NERDFIGHTER and am proud of it.
So basically; i love youtube, i love my macbook, i'm obsessed with Harry Potter and yes, lik most of you I follow charlieissocoollike and nerimon! I'm thinking about becoming a proper vlogger once i have time and ideas for videos :) To complete my nerdfighterness. I also have to to some research on the vlogbrothers. haha x
